Anish with her hajurama

Anish with her hajurama
Manamaiju, Kathmandu, Saturday, September 26th, 2015

Outside of Sabina’s house, I ran into Anish with her hajurama [grandmother] Gunmaya.
I think Anish wasn't quite sure what to make of me.

Sobita

Sobita
Kathmandu, Monday, September 21st, 2015

My friend Sobita holding her families' new puppy, Bhotu (which means muscular or strong). Sobita is a teacher in a "lower secondary" school (which means that her students are children in grades 5–8). Sobita is quick to a smile and a laugh, and she and her husband have three lovely children with the same great quality.

Every time I try to showcase my Nepali dance moves to Sobita's family, this is the kind of response I get.
